Al-Qari'ah
Translation: Pickthall
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ ٱلْقَارِعَةُ
The Calamity! 101:1
مَا ٱلْقَارِعَةُ
What is the Calamity? 101:2
وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلْقَارِعَةُ
Ah, what will convey unto thee what the Calamity is! 101:3
يَوْمَ يَكُونُ ٱلنَّاسُ كَٱلْفَرَاشِ ٱلْمَبْثُوثِ
A day wherein mankind will be as thickly-scattered moths 101:4
وَتَكُونُ ٱلْجِبَالُ كَٱلْعِهْنِ ٱلْمَنفُوشِ
And the mountains will become as carded wool. 101:5
فَأَمَّا مَن ثَقُلَتْ مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ
Then, as for him whose scales are heavy (with good works), 101:6
فَهُوَ فِى عِيشَةٍ رَّاضِيَةٍ
He will live a pleasant life. 101:7
وَأَمَّا مَنْ خَفَّتْ مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ
But as for him whose scales are light, 101:8
فَأُمُّهُۥ هَاوِيَةٌ
A bereft and Hungry One will be his mother, 101:9
وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا هِيَهْ
Ah, what will convey unto thee what she is! - 101:10
نَارٌ حَامِيَةٌۢ
Raging Fire. 101:11
